HoneyBee Cake Shop was founded by Malissa Rosa Sanfilippo in 2009.

Malissa started HoneyBee Cake Shop to continue her love for cake making and decorating.

Having always been a fan of cake shows such as ‘Ace of Cakes,' ‘Amazing Wedding Cakes,' and ‘Platinum Weddings'. 

She first learned the art of cake decorating in 2008 while living in North Carolina with her husband and working for Swank Cake Design. Later she and her husband moved to Charleston, South Carolina where she worked for Ashley Bakery. Malissa was then able to fine-tune her decorating skills.

Malissa has trained under other notable cake decorators such as Bronwen Weber and Ron Ben Israel.

Malissa graduated from the University of Southern California with degrees in Fine Art and Italian. She realized that she could apply her love of art into each and every wedding cake that she creates.

" It's gotta have the WOW factor right?! I love to decorate cakes. I treat each cake like it is it's own work of art. I don't just want to make a cake, I am trying to create a showpiece! I take my time in the detail and planing of the cake. I have some awesome ideas and am always trying to discover new things that can be accomplished with cake decorating."
